Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Indian ambassador to Angola, Pratibha Parkar, promised this Monday, in the city of Ui\u0301ge, to encourage businessmen from her country to invest in this region.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat expressed this intention at the meeting with the provincial governor of Ui\u0301ge, Jose\u0301 Carvalho da Rocha, noting that the priority lies with the areas of agriculture, information technology and mining.<\/p>\n

With a three-day work agenda in Ui\u0301ge province, Pratibha Parkar reaffirmed India’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Angola in various fields.<\/p>\n

As a result, he referred to the recent visit to the country of a delegation of 20 Indian companies interested in investing in various sectors, with emphasis on agriculture.<\/p>\n

In turn, the governor of Ui\u0301ge province, Jose\u0301 Carvalho da Rocha, spoke of the agricultural and mining potential of the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe province of Ui\u0301ge has strong potential in the production of bananas, passion fruit, avocados, pineapples and other crops, as well as mining potential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

With regard to the ambassador’s visit, the governor said he hoped it could mark the beginning of a path to establish a relationship between Indian and Angolan businessmen operating in the region.<\/p>\n

The work agenda of the Indian ambassador to Angola includes a visit to the Kimpa Vita University, the Congo Ethnographic Museum, the Kabbalah stones and the Nzenzo caves and other tourist sites in the region.<\/p>\n
