Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The senior women’s team of 1.o de Agosto beat Interclube (Monday) by 93-90, in the second game of the “play-offs”, the best of three, of the final of the National Championship (Liga Azule), held at the Aca\u0301cias Rubras pavilion, in the province of Benguela. <\/b><\/p>\n

At halftime, the formation of the \u201cpolice\u201d (holders of the title) held the thin advantage of 30-29, in a close challenge with three draws (62-62, 72-72 and 82-82)<\/p>\n

The situation forced the contenders to redouble their efforts, with the \u201cmilitary\u201d group having greater discernment and effectiveness.<\/p>\n

With one second left to go, with the game tied at 90 points and possession of the ball by 1.o de Agosto, Denise Pascoal played an important triple for the victory.<\/p>\n

With this triumph, 1o de Agosto equal Interclube, who won in the first game, by 57-72, forcing a final match, on Wednesday, at the same venue in the city of Benguela.<\/p>\n

To reach the final stage of the competition, coach Elisa Pires’ group beat Academia do 1o de Agosto (B) in the semi-finals, by 61-42, while coach Walter Costa’s collective eliminated Formigas do Cazenga, by 87-56, at the Cidadela pavilion, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

In the previous edition, Interclube won 1.o de Agosto, by three to one, in the “play-offs”, the best of five games.<\/p>\n
