Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Ca\u0301rmen do Sacramento Neto dos Santos, announced Monday, in Porto Amboim, Cuanza Sul province, the industrialization of the sector, to boost extractive fishing.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister, who was speaking upon her arrival and was received by the governor of Cuanza Sul, Job Capapinha, stressed that “with this action the sector he directs intends to always take advantage of opportunities for export, increased inspection and restructuring of the chain of value, taking into account the quality of the fish”.<\/p>\n

On this trip, which will also take her to the city of Sumbe, the minister X-rayed the companies WANGFESTAO-KP and PESKWANZA EP, as well as the future installations of Porto Pesqueiro.<\/p>\n

WANG FESTA\u0303O KP will produce tilapia and shrimp<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the WANG FESTA\u0303O KP industrial fishing company, Cardoso Pereira, announced the production of shrimp and tilapia this year, with a view to diversifying the company’s catches.<\/p>\n

According to the manager, who was speaking at the end of a visit by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Ca\u0301rmen do Sacramento Neto dos Santos, \u201cWe are going to produce shrimp and tilapia as a new business for the company and produce 120 thousand tons per year\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the source, more than 120 tanks are under construction, which will support the production of tilapia and shrimp, whose project will create 600 new jobs and insert small producers who will be equipped with the necessary tools, in addition to making sales to WANG GARLAND KP.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe operate with six company vessels and 21 other vessels in this fishing industry that provide us with services and allow us to reach 80 tons of fish per day\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

WANG FESTA\u0303O KP has a wharf bridge, with the capacity to dock four vessels, three semi-industrial and one craft, as well as two unloading vessels, simultaneously. At the moment, they have 1,800 workers, including more than 100 Chinese nationals.<\/p>\n

Peskwanza company<\/p>\n

The Fisheries Minister also X-rayed the inoperative four conservation chambers of this company (two of 150 tonnes, one of 250 tonnes and another of 350 tonnes), a freezing tunnel of 150 tonnes and an ice factory of 15 tonnes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe think that by rehabilitating the pier and the freezing and conservation chambers, as well as the ice factory, the company (Peskwanza) will obtain resources for the State coffers\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

The province of Cuanza Sul has a coastline of 178 kilometres, 80 kilometers of which between Hogiua and Chicucula, in the municipality of Porto Amboim, rich in fish, crustaceans and molluscs.<\/p>\n
