Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola will have, as of Wednesday, a fiber optic connection with Zambia, to reinforce the technological connection with the SADC region.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released this Tuesday by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication, Ma\u0301rio Oliveira, in statements to the press, after a parliamentary delegation from the Community for the Development of Southern Africa (SADC) visited the Ministry.<\/p>\n

Ma\u0301rio Oliveira explained that the connection starts with the initial tests to give form to it.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that a similar link already exists with the DRC and Namibia, announcing for the coming months with the Republic of Congo.<\/p>\n

During the parliamentarians’ visit, the minister addressed the main projects that the sector has carried out for the country’s development, with emphasis on the space project.<\/p>\n

In this context, he said that, shortly, the country will provide services via Satellite to Zambia and South Africa, for the areas of agriculture, migration control, infrastructures and environment.<\/p>\n

In this way, he considered the meeting with public finance officials opportune to help the SADC countries and reiterated the openness of the country for the reinforcement of cooperation.<\/p>\n

“Without money, nothing can be done, but with everyone’s support we can create robust systems for the continent and the world”, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

The focus on staff training, public internet, modernization of public media bodies, as well as Angola Telecom were also mentioned by the minister.<\/p>\n

The delegation of SADC parliamentarians is in Luanda for a two-day visit, within the scope of the Training program on the Public Finance Inspection Process, promoted by the Secretariat of the SADC Audit Committee.<\/p>\n

The delegation is headed by Zambian MP Warren Mwambazi.<\/p>\n

In the end, he acknowledged having received the necessary information from partners for deliberation and better approaches for the service provided by the group he leads, which is the oversight of public accounts.<\/p>\n

Alongside the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the delegation also visited the Court of Auditors and the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n
