Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Huambo, in partnership with the administration of the main municipality, Saturday, launched an earthworks plan for the peri-urban access roads to the outskirts of the capital city of the province.<\/b><\/p>\n

The act of launching the plan, which marks the start of the works, took place in the Sa\u0303o Jose\u0301 neighbourhood, on the outskirts of this city, under the guidance of the deputy governor for Technical Services and Infrastructure of the government of Huambo, Elmano Ina\u0301cio Francisco.<\/p>\n

The earthworks, to be carried out with own financial resources collected by the Huambo municipal administration, aim to rehabilitate access roads with a view to improving conditions for the movement of people and goods in the peripheral areas of the city.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the deputy governor made it known that the plan will cover all neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city, within the framework of government actions aimed at implementing social services for the benefit of the population.<\/p>\n

However, he said that depending on the technical, financial and means sources, each neighborhood will be contemplated with the earthwork of just three kilometers of road.<\/p>\n

Without specifying the deadline for completing the works, he said that they will be carried out as quickly as possible, to allow them to be completed before the start of the rainy season.<\/p>\n

It is estimated that the city of Huambo, capital of the province with the same name, has more than 50 peripheral neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
