Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Lui\u0301s Nunes this Sunday encouraged national businessmen to invest in Benguela province, due to the various existing opportunities to leverage the country’s economy.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lui\u0301s Nunes made these statements to Televisao Pu\u0301blica de Angola (TPA), reacting to the visit by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o and his counterparts from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Fe\u0301lix Tshisekedi, and from Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, to the city of Lobito, on the occasion of the of the exploration contract for the Lobito Corridor by the Lobito Atlantic Railway consortium.<\/p>\n

The governor considered the Lobito Corridor as the main logistics center in the country, and pointed out some of the province’s potential in agriculture, fishing and salt production, in which the business community can invest to export to neighboring countries without access to the sea.<\/p>\n

“We appeal to national businessmen to invest in the province because we have everything to work out”, stated Lui\u0301s Nunes.<\/p>\n

The Lobito Atlantic Railway consortium, winner of the international tender on November 4, 2022, is made up of the companies Trafigura, Vecturis and Mota Engil.<\/p>\n

It is responsible for transporting heavy loads and maintaining the infrastructure of the Benguela Railway (CFB).<\/p>\n

For its part, the CFB will be responsible for transporting passengers and lighter loads.<\/p>\n

The Lobito Corridor crosses Southern Africa and asserts itself as one of the main axes for the circulation of raw materials, products and goods, not only within the countries it crosses, but also due to the connection it establishes with the world market, through Porto do Lobito, which ensures a high percentage of the volume of international trade in the entire sub-region.<\/p>\n
