Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new Inspector General of State Administration (IGAE), A\u0302ngelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares, guaranteed this Monday that he will contribute to the promotion of good governance.<\/b><\/p>\n

A\u0302ngelo Tavares, after being sworn into office by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, considered it essential to contribute with education and awareness actions for civil servants, so that the structures of the central and local administration of the State fulfill their responsibilities.<\/p>\n

He advanced the carrying out of training and awareness-raising actions with the aim of correcting any shortcomings linked to compliance with civil service standards.<\/p>\n

For A\u0302ngelo Tavares, \u201cevery citizen should feel like a general inspector of the State, especially public servants, due to their duty to alert the authorities whenever they become aware of illegal acts in compliance with rules and procedures.<\/p>\n

He considered it essential to enforce the principles of legality, impartiality, transparency and justice for the gradual improvement of governance.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, he informed that he will also work to dignify the career of IGAE technicians, with the cooperation of institutions such as the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n

A\u0302ngelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares said that the cooperation of the IGAE will extend to the ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Criminal Investigation bodies and the Financial Information Unit.<\/p>\n

In addition to A\u0302ngelo Tavares, the President of the Republic swore in the new deputy governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), Maria Juliana de Carvalho Van-Du\u0301nem de Fontes Pereira, and the Executive Administrator of the Board of Directors of the same bank, Maria by Fa\u0301tima Trindade Poc\u0327as.<\/p>\n

A\u0302ngelo Tavares, who served as adviser to the President of the Republic, after having been Minister of the Interior, replaces Sebastia\u0303o Ngunza, who becomes President of the Court of Auditors.<\/p>\n
