Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The national teams of Rwanda and Co\u0302te d’Ivoires are opponents that, due to the physical complexion of their athletes, inspire care in the African Senior Women’s Basketball Championship, to be played from 28 July to 6 August, in Kigali (Rwanda ).<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the vice-president of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Nacissela Mauri\u0301cio, speaking in Luanda this Monday, Angola is the lowest competitor and with the least weight in the A series.<\/p>\n

After the morning training, held at the Cidadela pavilion, the former pole of the national team did not mention the average height of the Angolan women, but referred that physical robustness counts a lot in any team’s manoeuvre, especially in moments of pressure.<\/p>\n

In other times, Angola used to have a balanced squad both in terms of height and weight, with the interviewee, Felizarda Jorge, Nadir Manuel, Astrida Vicente standing out, who contributed to winning the event in Mali (2011) and Mozambique (2013) .<\/p>\n

To counteract this disadvantage, according to Nacissela Mauri\u0301cio, the national formation must be made up of players who are skilled and quick in passing the ball.<\/p>\n

He stated that training matches were planned with male Under-18 opponents during the internship in the province of Benguela, with emphasis on the Porto do Lobito House of Staff (CPPL), for a continental competition whose objective is to improve the 8th position of the previous edition .<\/p>\n

In the schedule, the trip to Benguela should take place on Tuesday, for a pre-competition stage until the 24th, with the group heading to the competition stage the following day (25).<\/p>\n
