Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government has ensured the alignment of the new National Development Plan (PDN 2023 \u2013 2027) with the Long Term Strategy (ELP – Angola 2050), and should evaluate and materialize international commitments.<\/b><\/p>\n

This information was provided, this Thursday, by the Head of the Department for Sectorial Planning of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), Adilson da Silva, stressing that the goals of the NDP, aligned with the Long-Term Strategy, also have fundamental pillars of development, with cross-cutting social themes.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the usual MEP briefing, the official says that an attempt was made to measure the priorities that are defined in the major commitments assumed by the Government.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery approach is followed by a structure with a territorial dimension, which assesses development and how each province should contribute to the achievement of the defined goals\u201d, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

He added that, in the field of tax revenue, there is also an impact assessment filter, where \u201c167 priorities are foreseen, with food security 58, youth 96, gender equality 34, environmental sustainability 48, employment 125 and environment of business 38 priorities\u201d.<\/p>\n

For vulnerable communities, he indicated that there is also a filter, with 54 priorities.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the transversal approach of the plan raises a challenge, as it is an innovation, in which the Government hopes to guarantee a greater focus of government action.<\/p>\n

He assured that the PDN is in its final phase, and the alteration of the large macroeconomic figures also refer to the updating of the fiscal framework.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an exercise that is done now. We still have three sectors to validate the strategic component of the plan, ministries of Justice, Territory Administration and Foreign Affairs\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

He explained that the PDN followed the guidelines of the Basic Law of the National Planning System and has, within its structure, nine major elements, comprising seven axes, 20 policies, 79 programmes, 151 objectives and 315 priorities.<\/p>\n

According to the same, the instrument has seven major axes, from the consolidation of peace and the Democratic State of Law, promotion of the balanced and harmonious development of the territory, of human capital, reduction of social inequalities, modernization and making infrastructures more efficient of the country, ensuring economic and sustainable diversification, as well as securing the wealth of sovereignty.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll axes are broken down into 20 policies that are the strategic guidance mechanism of the operational component of the 79 programs\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The National Development Plan (PDN) is a medium-term planning instrument, which presents the strategic objectives by domain and respective action programs with their goals, projects and activities.<\/p>\n

The Long-Term Strategy-Angola 2050 is the base tool for the elaboration of the National Development Plan (PDN), which presents the country’s long-term strategic development options, being elaborated based on analysis of scenarios, for the national, sectoral and territorial levels.<\/p>\n
