Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho delivered, this Thursday, the letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.<\/b><\/p>\n

After the act, the diplomat held a meeting with the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Takeo Mori, addressing issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The two personalities took the opportunity to talk about aspects of cooperation between Angola and Japan, which had a new impetus, after the state visit of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, last March.<\/p>\n

The diplomat also took the opportunity to reaffirm the Angolan government’s will to cooperate with Japan in the political-diplomatic, economic-social and technical-scientific areas, with the aim of attracting Japanese private investment, to help diversify the Angolan economy.<\/p>\n

Teodolinda Coelho expressed interest in seeing Japan investing in the entrepreneurship sector in the area of \u200b\u200btechnology for small and medium-sized companies, which are expanding in the country.<\/p>\n

In addition to bilateral issues, multilateral issues were also addressed, with emphasis on the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Bilateral cooperation with Japan began in 1988 as Emergency Aid, via UNICEF.<\/p>\n

After the end of the war in 2002, Japan began to carry out assistance in the areas of mine clearance, social reintegration of former soldiers and reintegration of refugees.<\/p>\n

As part of the national reconstruction of Angola, Japan has been providing assistance, within the framework of international organizations, in segments such as food aid, as well as assistance to farmers and poverty.<\/p>\n

Japan’s support extends to assistance with the repatriation of refugees, water supply facilities, construction of primary schools, communication network and ports.<\/p>\n

In the health sector, since 1996, Japan has donated US$40 million for the rehabilitation and equipment of the Josina Machel Hospital, which is one of the reference hospitals in the country.<\/p>\n

Within the scope of economic cooperation, in recent years, knowledge and experiences from Japan have been used in the areas of rice cultivation development and professional training.<\/p>\n

Located in the Far East and known as the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan is made up of an archipelago formed by the islands of Kyushu, Honishu, Honshi Shikoku and Hokkaido.<\/p>\n

An island country in the Pacific Ocean, it has dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous national parks and thousands of shrines and temples.<\/p>\n
