Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>One hundred and twenty saleswomen were trained, this Friday, in the municipality of Caa\u0301la, Huambo province, on techniques and strategies for managing small businesses, for greater profitability.<\/b><\/p>\n

The training action, an initiative of the Government of the province of Huambo, is part of the \u201cVotoca\u201d project, an expression in the national Umbundu language, which in Portuguese means \u201cStand up\u201d, with the aim of increasing the volume of business in this fringe of society and, at the same time, reduce the economic difficulties it is experiencing.<\/p>\n

To support this project, the local government has opened a micro-credit line, aimed at zungueiras, with repayment to be made in seven months, with each group, made up of 15 saleswomen, receiving 500,000 Kwanzas.<\/p>\n

The individual title, zungueira, receives 33,330 Kwanzas, with repayment of 6,550 Kwanzas\/month, with an interest rate of 9 percent, while the default rate is set at 1 percent.<\/p>\n

The saleswomen, mostly street vendors, learned the basics of micro-credit, the business plan, risk situations and techniques for identifying opportunities and managing sales to avoid financial waste.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the director of the Social Action, Family and Gender Equality office, from Huambo province, Maria de Fa\u0301tima Cawewe, appealed to the trainees to avoid unnecessary expenses, so that it is possible to increase the profitability levels of the businesses and, at the same time, improve the living conditions of families.<\/p>\n

He said the training was designed to increase knowledge around small business management.<\/p>\n

In a first phase, according to the person in charge, zungueiras in the municipalities of Bailundo, Caa\u0301la, Cachiungo, Chicala-Cholohanga, Huambo and Longonjo will be awarded with micro-credit, a total of 720, a ratio of 120 for each of the municipalities.<\/p>\n

Created in 2021, by the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, the project has, so far, assisted 1,800 zungueiras.<\/p>\n
