Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Police recently seized more than twenty-nine thousand, four hundred and fifteen (29,415) diamond stones of various carats, in the province of Lunda-Norte, in 2021, as part of the \u201cOperation Transparency\u201d in progress since 2021. 2018 in the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released this week by the Interior delegate in Lunda-Norte, Alfredo Quintino “Nilo”, when he was speaking at the provincial act in allusion to the 46th anniversary of the National Police.<\/p>\n

He informed that 557 thousand and 500 US dollars, 33 million, 586 thousand and 950 kwanzas were also seized, means used for the illicit exploitation of diamonds, among others, delivered to the Commission for the Listing of “Operation Transparency”.<\/p>\n

In the same period, 39,000, 211 emigrants from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were detained and repatriated for illegally entering and staying in Angolan territory.<\/p>\n

Still in the context of illegal immigration, he continued, 5,543 citizens of the DRC who were illegally in the country left Angola voluntarily.<\/p>\n

Regarding the fight against the crime of fuel smuggling, the official reported that in 2021 786,918 liters of fuel (gasoline and diesel) were seized, destined for the DRC.<\/p>\n
