Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Lawyer and university lecturer Alfredo Yava defended the need for the States of the Community of Southern African Developing Countries (SADC) to start developing draft laws with a view to eliminating customs \u201cobstacles\u201d in the economic bloc.<\/b><\/p>\n

The professor and specialist in Customs Law made this statement, this Saturday, in Luena, Moxico province, regarding the transfer of the concession of railway services and logistics of the Lobito Corridor to a private consortium.<\/p>\n

According to the academician, the concession of this infrastructure to a private tender demonstrates the commitment of the Angolan government, in making the Lobito corridor, in particular the Railway, functional, fulfilling the desiderata of the objectives of the SADC, on the regional integration.<\/p>\n

According to the professor, after completing the creation of mobility conditions, it is necessary for the SADC countries to evolve, through the creation of efficient laws that allow the elimination of double taxation of goods produced in the region.<\/p>\n

Alfre Yava maintains that it is necessary to have a customs union between the States, to allow tax exemption, facilitating the process of regionalization and internationalization of the bloc’s companies, providing more circulation of goods and services.<\/p>\n

The removal of customs barriers, from the perspective of the academic, will imply fiscal expenses for the States, however there will be benefits through other valences, allowing growth and greater capacity for collecting revenue from companies and consequent creation of jobs, guaranteeing economic development and social.<\/p>\n

\u201ctoday companies tend to occupy other markets and spaces, in this sense the SADC countries must create conditions for them to be able to internationalize\u201d. He said<\/p>\n

For the teacher, at the recent invitation that the Angolan President, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, made to his counterparts from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Fe\u0301lix Tchisekedi, and from Zambia, Akainde Hichilema, respectively, at the official ceremony for the transfer of the concession of rail services and logistics of support from the corridor to the \u201cLobito Atlantic Railway\u201d consortium is a sign that there must be cooperation between the member states.<\/p>\n
