Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola and Poland assessed the state of relations, in a meeting that also served to review the international consequences of the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, with particular focus on the situation of Angolans in the areas affected by the conflict in that part of Eastern Europe.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that it has been monitoring the situation of the Angolan community residing in Ukraine and working hard with its diplomatic representations accredited in the Russian Federation, Poland, Serbia and Hungary for the evacuation of compatriots in the affected areas.<\/p>\n

For this reason, on Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, received, in audience, Piotr J\u00f3zef Mysliwiec, Polish ambassador to Angola, addressed, in addition to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, aspects related to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, issues regional and international.<\/p>\n

Angola and Poland have signed several legal instruments, in particular the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, a cooperation agreement in the areas of Scientific Research and Education between the Kimpa Vita universities, in U\u00edge, and Agr\u00e1ria in Krak\u00f3w, in Poland, and the third phase of construction of the Namibe Academy of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, under the protocol signed in March 2017, with funds provided by the European country.<\/p>\n

Both Governments envisage the signing of other legal instruments, namely in the fields of Culture, Geology and Mining, Environment, as well as between the geological institutes of the two countries.<\/p>\n

Political, diplomatic and cooperation relations between Angola and Poland began in 1976, with the signing of the General Agreement on Economic, Technical-Scientific and Cultural Cooperation, having been reinforced with the Declaration on the Strengthening of Friendship and Cooperation, of 24 of April 1997.<\/p>\n
