Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, wrote a message to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel D\u00ecaz-Canel, and it was delivered, in Havana, by the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Ad\u00e3o de Almeida. At the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the historical nature of bilateral ties, as well as on the current state of political, economic and collaborative relations.<\/b><\/p>\n

The talks were also attended by ministerial representatives from different socio-economic sectors of both nations, including the Angolan ambassador to Cuba, Maria C\u00e2ndida Teixeira, the Secretaries of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Domingos Vieira Lopes), for Finance and the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance (Ottoniel dos Santos), for the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Eug\u00e9nio da Silva) and for the Hospital Area of \u200b\u200bthe Ministry of Health (Leonardo Inoc\u00eancio).<\/p>\n

Ad\u00e3o de Almeida heads a delegation of the Angolan Executive that has been carrying out, since February 27, a program of visits to the Republic of Cuba that continues until today, with an agenda full of formal meetings and high-level meetings.<\/p>\n

Among the working meetings, the meeting with Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice-Prime Minister of the Caribbean nation who is, at the same time, Vice-President of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Cuba, involving sectoral delegations from both countries.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, Ad\u00e3o de Almeida highlighted the strengthening of the historical ties of friendship, cooperation and fraternity that unite the two countries.<\/p>\n

The head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic of Angola emphasized that, among the country’s new challenges, is the diversification of economic activity, for which he urged the opening of another page in collaboration with Cuba.<\/p>\n

The delegation paid tribute to the Cuban internationalists who participated in the struggles for the pacification of Angola and met with the Angolan student community, as part of an agenda that additionally included visits to sites in relation to bilateral cooperation sectors linked to Biotechnology and social issues. .<\/p>\n
