Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Local Authorities, Ma\u0301rcio Lopes Daniel, highlighted, this Thursday, in Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, the decentralization of administrative powers in the execution of projects with a direct impact on the lives of citizens.<\/b><\/p>\n

The head of the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MAT) was speaking at the presentation ceremony of the promotion and dissemination actions of the 4th Edition of the Feira dos Munici\u0301pios e Cidades de Angola (FMCA), taking place from 10 to 13 August this year, in the city from Lubango, province of Huila.<\/p>\n

Ma\u0301rcio Lopes Daniel recalled that the country’s municipalities, these days, are already carrying out projects that were previously reserved for different ministerial departments.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, municipal administrators are capable of planning, contracting, executing, monitoring and delivering to the population, in the same way or better than the central bodies, infrastructures in the most diverse domains\u201d, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

In this context, he highlighted the vision of the Head of Executive Power and President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in his commitment to institutionalizing and holding Local Governance Councils and Fairs of Municipalities and Cities of Angola (FMCA).<\/p>\n

For Marcio Lopes Daniel, these events, together with the Forums of the Municipalities and Cities of Angola, make it possible to assess the degree of implementation of projects and programs of local responsibility.<\/p>\n

He appealed to municipal administrators to draw lessons from the Executive’s successful commitment to the deconcentration of competences and to give effect to the motto according to which: \u201cLife is made in the Municipalities\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also urged that the State’s financial and budgetary management instruments reflect the principle that the Ministries and Provincial Governments should only deal with what the municipal administrations are demonstrably incapable of executing.<\/p>\n

The 4th Edition of the FMCA will take place simultaneously with the 10th Edition of the Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola.<\/p>\n

The 3rd Edition of the FMCA took place in 2018 in the city of Benguela, having experienced some interregnum in the following years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

These events are intended for the presentation and exposure of the municipalities’ potential, promotion, attraction and fixation of sustainable private investment, dissemination of the cultural mosaic of the municipalities.<\/p>\n

They also have, among other objectives, sharing good practices in terms of local governance and development and promoting inter-municipal partnerships and with the private sector.<\/p>\n

The presentation ceremony of the promotion and dissemination actions of the 4th edition of the Feira dos Munici\u0301pios e Cidades de Angola (FMCA) also coincided with the launch of the 9th edition of the National Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola, in the northern region of the country.<\/p>\n

The 4th Edition of the FMCA, taking place under the motto \u201cLife is made in the Municipalities\u201d will involve the Eventos Arena group and will bring together, in a gross space of 5,000 square meters, exhibitions from the 164 municipalities of the 18 provinces, among other entities .<\/p>\n

The 26 municipal administrators of the provinces of Zaire, Uige and Cabinda, as well as the deputy governor for the political, social and economic sector of the latter, participated in the presentation ceremony of the 4th Edition of the Feira dos Munici\u0301pios e Cidades de Angola, in Mbanza Kongo. region.<\/p>\n

Deputy governor of Zaire reiterates call for private investment<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Zaire’s deputy governor for the political, social and economic sector, Afonso Nzolameso, reiterated the appeal to private investors to invest their money in the region, taking advantage of the potential available in the most varied fields.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the sectors of geology and mining, culture, agriculture, fisheries and tourism, stressing that Zaire is still a virgin region and yet to be explored, including its human potential.<\/p>\n

The deputy governor augured the revalidation of the title of champion of the 3rd Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola held in 2018, in the city of Benguela, which Zaire holds.<\/p>\n
