Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The second secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Ade\u0301rito Chimuco, highlighted this Friday the role of OMA in defending the civil, economic, political, social and cultural rights of Angolan women, with a focus on family stability.<\/b><\/p>\n

The party member, who was speaking at the opening of the V Ordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the OMA in Huambo, said that since its founding, on January 10, 1962, the female branch of the MPLA has been able to interpret the contribution of this fringe in society, as well as and in the defense of their rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that it is increasingly important to look at women as a source of inspiration in society, for their moral, social and civic role in educating citizens.<\/p>\n

Ade\u0301rito Chimuco informed that the works of the V Ordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the OMA in Huambo will, among others, analyze, with precision, its achievements during the first semester of the current year, not neglecting the mission of mobilizing women around the ideals of the MPLA.<\/p>\n

For this reason, he encouraged the OMA militants to remain committed to the struggle and consolidation of the victories won by the MPLA in terms of social well-being, in order to safeguard the hard-won peace and stability.<\/p>\n

He said that OMA needs to be persistent and firm in the face of society’s challenges, so that, with its potential and experience gained throughout the country’s history, it can reassure families, directing them towards a safe path and victory.<\/p>\n

The OMA controls, in Huambo province, more than five thousand sector committees and close to two thousand base sections, with a total estimated at 250 thousand militants, spread over the 11 municipalities.<\/p>\n
