Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Benguela Provincial Command of the National Police carried out, this Tuesday, in the Camaninga neighbourhood, on the outskirts of this city, the arrest of the alleged murderer of a 55-year-old motorcycle taxi driver.<\/b><\/p>\n

The crime took place on the 12th of this month, next to the Municipal Hospital of Benguela, and the motorcycle taxi driver was fatally shot with a firearm following the subtraction of his motorbike, an action carried out by two criminals.<\/p>\n

According to the corporation’s local spokesman, superintendent Ernesto Tchiwale, the suspect’s arrest was possible after an investigative work, and at the time he showed resistance and attacked an agent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn an attempt to seize the weapon of one of the agents, he was shot in one of the upper limbs to neutralize it, finding himself out of danger and receiving medical treatment\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Ernesto Tchiwale explained that the suspect is part of the group composed of two elements and that his accomplice was arrested following the operation.<\/p>\n

The two alleged criminals will be presented publicly in the next few hours, after being presented to the Public Ministry for legalization of the arrest.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson made it known, on the other hand, that, in the fulfillment of a targeted operation, which aims to curb violent crime in the territory of Benguela, two other citizens were detained in flagrante delicto who committed theft with the use of a firearm. fire.<\/p>\n

The superintendent said that the operation focused on the peripheral neighborhood of Kapiandalo, where it was possible to catch the suspects when they were trying to rob a residence using an AKM-type firearm.<\/p>\n

PN creates groups for complaints<\/p>\n

The National Police commands in the municipalities of Benguela and Lobito created, this week, interaction groups on WhatsApp to share information on public safety.<\/p>\n

According to the municipal commander of the PN in Lobito, superintendent Jilson Pedro, this initiative also aims at an inclusive participation of citizens, with the aim of helping the defense and public security forces to make contact with specific information for preventing and combating crime. .<\/p>\n

The senior officer also made it known that the institution has, for some time, been developing a proximity policing work in the communities, with a view to sensitizing the population to the practice of reporting, as well as advising against doing justice by one’s own hands.<\/p>\n

As for the recent cases of robberies in homes in the centrality of Lobito, Jilson Pedro assured that the situation is under control, with the reinforcement of self patrolling.<\/p>\n
