Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government’s strategy for the diversification of the national economy involves creating incentives for the private sector of the economy so that they assume their role and responsibilities, said this Tuesday, in Luanda, the Angolan Head of State , John Lawrence.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference after visiting the exhibitions of products and services at the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o said that the Angolan government has shown political will to leverage the national economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that many of the State’s assets should not remain in its hands and we are passing it on, through a public tender, to the private sector which, without a doubt, knows how to do better than the State\u201d, noted the holder of the Executive power.<\/p>\n

In this wake, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o encouraged the private sector of the national economy to be more ambitious, so that production levels are increasingly closer to the needs of the country, the populations and also to export surpluses.<\/p>\n

For the President of the Republic, the national economy will only succeed when it has a strong private sector.<\/p>\n

Regarding the level of foreign direct investment in Angola, he said that “it is still not satisfactory”.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are still not satisfied. We continue to work to attract more foreign direct investment to the country. This is what we have done in most of our missions abroad, in visits that we make\u201d, he expressed.<\/p>\n

The event is attended by over a thousand participants, with products and services that will be on display until the 22nd of this month, at the ZEE, under the motto \u201cDigital economy as the new frontier of the world economy\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Luanda International Fair (FILDA) is a stage for the promotion of national production, which emphasizes the diversification of the economy, business and the promotion of employment.<\/p>\n

As the largest multi-sector fair, FILDA has assumed the role of the main showcase for the presentation of national companies, brands, products and services.<\/p>\n

The fair encourages exchange and diversification, bringing together national and foreign entrepreneurs in all its editions to establish business contacts, commercial and diplomatic relations with Angola.<\/p>\n

Since the first edition, in 1983, FILDA is seen by exhibitors as a showcase of Angola’s capacities and potential, to stimulate the increase of national production and the launching of new economic bridges.<\/p>\n
