Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Miguel Bembe, highlighted, this Tuesday, the fact that Education constitutes an area fundamental, within the scope of the actions of the Angolan Executive.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat made this statement during a meeting with the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary G. Oba and Debora Oba.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the diplomat underlined that the achievement of the referred policy is in line with the constant aspirations of Agenda 2063 of the continental organization, entitled \u201cThe Africa we want\u201d.<\/p>\n

Miguel Bembe emphasized that the next Luanda Biennial, to be held between the 22nd and 24th of November of the current year, will be dedicated to \u201cEducation, Culture of Peace and African Citizenship as Tools for the Sustainable Development of the Continent\u201d.<\/p>\n

For their part, the Oba couple informed that the religious confession, founded in 1830, in Salt Lake City, United States of America, has more than 17 million members and provides humanitarian assistance in 185 countries.<\/p>\n

According to North American religious, in September 2022 the Church carried out charitable actions worth 32 million dollars, in 9 (nine) countries, with emphasis on Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n

They mentioned that the congregation is represented in Angola with around five (5) thousand faithful, having been legally recognized in 1993.<\/p>\n
