Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Escolinha do Sa\u0303o Joa\u0303o (EASJ) in Huambo missed Monday the opportunity to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 44th National Senior Men’s Handball Championship, losing for the fourth consecutive time.<\/b><\/p>\n

The only representative of the host province (Huambo) lost in the opening game of the fifth and final round of the group stage, for Serie A, against Interclube B, by 11-31.<\/p>\n

At halftime, the hosts, who debut in a national of the category, lost by 9-13, and in the second half they only scored two goals.<\/p>\n

Before this defeat, the team from Huambo, who rested on the third round due to calendar imperative, lost in the opening of the competition against Desportivo Gaiatos de Benguela, by 18-31, in the second, with Sporting de Cabinda, by 20-24, and in the fourth, with 1o de Agosto, by 13-40.<\/p>\n

With this sequence of results, the hosts conditioned their passage to the quarter-finals, giving advantage to Sporting de Cabinda, ranked fourth in the series with two points and playing this afternoon with Desportivo Gaiatos de Benguela.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Huambo squad will wait, at the end of the 5th round, which will be played this afternoon, for the fifth place in series B, for the 9th and 10th place qualifiers.<\/p>\n

Interclube B, on the other hand, has five points and remains in second place in the A series, led by 1o de Agosto, current champions, with eight.<\/p>\n

In the continuation of the fifth and final round of the competition, which registers the champion’s break, Interclube A, runner-up, will play with Sagrada Esperanc\u0327a, while Grupo Desportivo Hadja Models will face FC de Cabinda, all for series B, where Grupo Desportivo da Banca will rest.<\/p>\n

The list of top scorers for the 44th National Senior Men’s Handball Championship, whose matches will take place until the 29th of this month at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Du\u0301nem pavilion, in the interior of this city, is led by Celso Fernando, from Desportivo da Banca, with 25 goals .<\/p>\n
