Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministers of Communications of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) highlighted, last Friday, in Luanda, the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity, protection of personal data and the space sector, within the framework of the implementation of the \u201cAgenda Digital for the CPLP\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the final communique\u0301 of the XI Ordinary Meeting that took place on Friday, the Member States of the community approved the general lines of the Action Plan 2023 \u2013 2025 and the development of an electronic consultation procedure, pointing to the need to identify mechanisms that make it possible to monitor the implementation of the \u201cDigital Agenda for the CPLP\u201d.<\/p>\n

Member States, in their final communique\u0301, also highlighted the role of digital solutions in eradicating poverty, promoting prosperity and their contribution to sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The ministers, within the framework of the Strategic Vision of the CPLP 2016-2026, which encourages the deepening of cooperation between the Member States, stated that the communications sector is of paramount importance to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided by the State and that enhances opportunities for cooperation and political concertation for economic and social development.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDigital Agenda for the CPLP\u201d establishes a set of principles and practices that could serve as a strategic guide in digital matters for the formulation and implementation of digital initiatives by the Member States and their potential to foster networking and articulation between different development sectors in the Community.<\/p>\n

The member states encourage the Government of Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe, which will receive the Presidency of the CPLP, in August 2023, to pursue a community articulation that allows to increase the intersectoral cooperation between the Member States in the Communications sector.<\/p>\n

The meeting served to take stock of the degree of implementation of electronic governance actions carried out over the last few years in Member States, as well as to analyze the implementation of the CPLP Digital Agenda and to improve relations between Member States.<\/p>\n
