Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, congratulated the Government and People of Cuba on the celebration, this Wednesday, of the seventieth anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a message sent to President Miguel Di\u0301az-Canel, the Angolan Head of State underlines the effort and resilience of the Cuban people, who, despite going through various vicissitudes, remain firm and cohesive in the struggle to defend sovereignty, freedom and justice , hoping for a prosperous future.<\/p>\n

Na missiva, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o destaca o percurso que Angola e Cuba fizeram ao longo das u\u0301ltimas de\u0301cadas, com realizac\u0327o\u0303es que honram os homens e mulheres que juntos combateram pela preservac\u0327a\u0303o da liberdade, da Independe\u0302ncia e da soberania das respectivas nac\u0327o\u0303es.<\/p>\n

Cuba e\u0301 um parceiro estrate\u0301gico de Angola desde a Independe\u0302ncia, em 1975.<\/p>\n

As forc\u0327as cubanas apoiaram Angola nos momentos mais difi\u0301ceis, quando o pai\u0301s enfrentava uma guerra contra o regime racista sul-africano.<\/p>\n

Cuba formou muitos quadros angolanos e ambiciona maior envolvimento na cooperac\u0327a\u0303o econo\u0301mica com Angola.<\/p>\n

O primeiro conve\u0301nio de cooperac\u0327a\u0303o entre Angola e Cuba remonta a Fevereiro de 1976 e versou os sectores da sau\u0301de e da educac\u0327a\u0303o.<\/p>\n

Felicitac\u0327o\u0303es ao povo da Libe\u0301ria<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic also addressed a message to congratulate the People and Government of Liberia, which completes 176 years of Independence.<\/p>\n

The message was sent to President George Weah, to whom Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o expressed his conviction that the strengthening of existing friendship and cooperation relations could be a solid platform for common actions in favor of the progress and development of both nations.<\/p>\n

Angola and Liberia signed, in 2011, a General Cooperation Agreement and a Memorandum of Political Consultations. The documents inaugurated a new stage in bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

In addition to the General Cooperation Agreement, a Memorandum of Political Consultations was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Liberia and of Foreign Affairs of Angola.<\/p>\n
