Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The United States of America (USA) will continue to work with Angola with the aim of helping with the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport, said the American ambassador to the country, Tulinabo Mushingi.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat, who was speaking on Wednesday night, in Luanda, during the delivery of certificates of merit to participants in a training course in the US, recognized, however, that the inclusion of this class does not end with sport.<\/p>\n

Afirmou ser necessa\u0301rio garantir que essas pessoas tenham acesso a\u0300 educac\u0327a\u0303o, oportunidades econo\u0301micas e que se sintam seguras para coabitar nas respectivas comunidades.<\/p>\n

Para o efeito, Tulinabo Mushingi, que responde tambe\u0301m pela diplomacia americana em Sa\u0303o Tome e Pri\u0301ncipe, considerou necessa\u0301rio estruturas fortes e governac\u0327a\u0303o de qualidade, e defendeu a conti\u0301nua colaborac\u0327a\u0303o entre os dois Estados enquanto decisores e catalisadores da mudanc\u0327a.<\/p>\n

Ja\u0301 a secretaria de Estado para os Desportos, Teresa Ulundo, referiu que a inclusa\u0303o das pessoas com deficie\u0302ncias em todas as esferas da sociedade, particularmente pela via desportiva, e\u0301 priorita\u0301ria para o Governo de Angola.<\/p>\n

Lembrou que fruto do empenho governamental, por via do Ministe\u0301rio da Juventude e Desportos, hoje, em Angola, os resultados desportivos demonstram o sucesso do trabalho.<\/p>\n

He cited, as an example, the former sprinter Jose\u0301 Sayovo, who became famous with gold medals in the Paralympic Games and World Championships, in addition to the amputee football team, world champion and vice-champion.<\/p>\n

Representatives from Angola, Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe and Mozambique participated in the social inclusion training programme.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Sayovo (world record holder in the 100, 200 and 400 meters at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games), the guide athlete Daniel Cardoso, the president of the Huambo Paralympic Association, Jaime Chilala, and four physical education teachers said they were part of the training action.<\/p>\n
