Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA) will finance with five million kwanzas each agribusiness project of young students at the Agrarian Technical Institute (ITA) in Cuanza Norte.<\/b><\/p>\n

The fact was announced this Thursday, in Ndalatando, Cuanza Norte, by the chairman of the Board of Directors of FADA, Felisbela da Costa Maria, in the act of signing financing contracts with 100 students from that educational institution.<\/p>\n

He informed that each project will receive five million kwanzas, 50 percent of which will be for the acquisition of drip irrigation systems, including technical assistance, and the rest for agricultural inputs.<\/p>\n

The act marked the beginning of the operationalization of the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions, which aims to grant credit to ITA students.<\/p>\n

The agricultural credit will be repayable in three years, with a one-year grace period.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the memorandum of understanding between FADA and ITA of Cuanza Norte involves cooperation in the field of agriculture, based on the technical training of young students.<\/p>\n

It also comprises the granting of financing for agricultural projects, after a careful evaluation of the various business initiatives presented by interested parties.<\/p>\n

With this memorandum, he added, FADA expects significant gains for the student community, through the promotion of entrepreneurship and easier access to new mechanisms to support agribusiness.<\/p>\n

The initiative is part of the Executive’s strategies to fight hunger and poverty, promote self-employment, youth empowerment, expand the tax base, replace imports by increasing domestic production, in addition to food security.<\/p>\n

He stressed that FADA is engaged in the pursuit of strategic objectives for productive activity, creating spaces for the active participation of young people in promoting agriculture, through the granting of credits at attractive rates.<\/p>\n

For her part, the vice-governor of Cuanza Norte for the Political, Social and Economic area, Luzia da Silva Jose\u0301, highlighted the impact of the memorandum on training young students to promote business initiatives in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

He also underlined its impact on the promotion of self-employment, food self-sufficiency and the fight against hunger.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the beneficiary students thanked FADA’s initiative and expressed their willingness to honor the objectives that led to the creation of the project, in order to contribute to the Government’s actions to increase national production and reinforce food security.<\/p>\n
