Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Telecommunications, Pascoal Fernandes, this Friday, in Luanda, appealed to the finalists of the Institute of Telecommunications (ITEL) to pay special attention to the productive areas of the country that need promotion and acceleration in research and innovation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony of the 2nd Ceremony for awarding diplomas to the more than 216 finalists of the Multimedia Systems, IT, Electronics and Telecommunications Systems courses, he underlined the need to focus on the development of information and communication technology applications and systems, in order to contribute to the country’s development.<\/p>\n

He considered the area of \u200b\u200bTelecommunications as one of the inducing sectors of the socio-economic development of the country, considering that the local and global telecommunications networks are responsible for an enormous flow of information.<\/p>\n

\u201cAngola cannot do without an efficient telecommunications system that can expand throughout the country, bringing knowledge and digital services to the population. Such a goal is only possible with qualified resources\u201d, said Pascoal Fernandes.<\/p>\n

The official highlighted that over the years of its existence, ITEL has launched talented and enterprising young people into the job market with social and innovative projects.<\/p>\n

He expressed his appreciation to the professors and employees of the Institute who have been working \u201cselflessly, overcoming the countless challenges in fulfilling the important mission of training young people in the technical and technological areas with the qualification to work in public and private companies, as well as having their own businesses\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) was created with the aim of organizing specific technical courses aimed at the community and, in particular, at young people, in order to better prepare their integration into the information society.<\/p>\n

It also seeks to promote the dissemination of information and communication technologies as a means of contributing to the human, cultural and intellectual development of young people, encouraging free expression and communication and enabling their immediate use, in accordance with the needs of local communities.<\/p>\n

ITEL provides young people with access to information and communication technologies, making them agents of regional development processes, making young people aware of science and technology from a perspective of using and applying knowledge in their daily lives.<\/p>\n
