Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem, evaluated, this Friday, in Washington DC, several projects financed by the World Bank (WB), mainly those linked to the fight against poverty and inequalities, such as Kwenda and the distribution of potable water and electricity to communities.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release, Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem held a working meeting with the director of the World Bank for Nigeria, South Africa and Angola, Ayanda Dlodlo, where they reviewed some of the most important programs in the country supported by the institution financial.<\/p>\n

Kwenda, one of the most successful in this partnership between the Executive of Angola and the World Bank, stems from a monetary transfer process for one million, 090,235 registered families, with the goal being to reach one million, 608,000 families.<\/p>\n

The note also refers that the interlocutors confirmed at this meeting that new commitments have been approved and have already been signed, including the project to train Human Resources for Health in Angola estimated at USD 200 million.<\/p>\n

The BM is committed to supporting the Executive’s initiatives in economic diversification programs with a project valued at USD 300 million, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and in the improvement of public services, set at USD 300 million, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Territorial Administration.<\/p>\n

According to Ayanda Dlodlo, all projects were signed this year and were scrutinized by the Court of Auditors, with a legal opinion from the Attorney General’s Office.<\/p>\n
