Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The approval, by the Council of Ministers, of the Long-Term Development Strategy, is the highlight of the political news released in the week that ends (Saturday).<\/b><\/p>\n

In general lines, the document reflects the future vision of the country and contemplates different scenarios of economic and social growth, as well as defining global and sectoral targets.<\/p>\n

This Strategy replaces the previous “Angola 2025” and arises from the need to align with the international commitments assumed by the country, within the framework of the United Nations Agenda 2030 and the African Union Agenda 2063.<\/p>\n

The political news of the last seven days was also marked by the audiences that the Angolan Head of State granted to representatives of various religious congregations recognized in Angola.<\/p>\n

During the meetings, President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o analyzed the country’s socio-economic and political situation with different religious entities.<\/p>\n

At the Presidential Palace, the holder of the Executive Branch received the president of the Angolan Christian Forum (FCA), Lui\u0301s Nguimbi, the secretary general of the Council of Christian Churches of Angola (CICA), Deolinda Dorcas Teca, and the president of the Pentecostal Assembly of God (ADP), Francisco Sebastia\u0303o.<\/p>\n

Also received were the Reverends Daniel Antoni Nzinga, from the Evangelical Baptist Church of Angola (IEBA), Estanislau Barros, Evangelical Church of Angola (IEA), Bishop Toma\u0301s Ndawanapo, Evangelical Lutheran Church of Angola (IELA) and the apostle Elias Pedro, Christian Missionary of Angola (IMCA).<\/p>\n

In the diplomatic field, the Angolan Head of State received during the week the outgoing ambassador of the European Union in Angola, Jannette Seppen, having addressed issues related to the social and economic projects that the organization carries out in Angola.<\/p>\n

Also making headlines were the meetings held by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, with representatives of African associations of women in geosciences.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the parties addressed issues related to strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), with emphasis on gender empowerment.<\/p>\n

In the parliamentary segment, the pronouncement of the MPLA Parliamentary Group was highlighted, which reiterated the “unconditional support” to its leader and President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in the task of directing the destiny of the party and the country .<\/p>\n

The position of the MPLA Parliamentary Group was expressed in the National Assembly, within the framework of the discussion and vote on the General State Account (CGE) for the 2021 fiscal year.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the last seven days were marked by the position of the Government of Angola that condemned the coup d’e\u0301tat in Niger, which took place on Wednesday (26), and demanded the immediate release of President Mohamed Bazoum, family members and collaborators.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the Government of Angola considers the situation in Niger “a serious attack on the constitutional order of the country”, and “an unacceptable violation of democratic principles”.<\/p>\n

Another fact that deserved news attention is the participation of the head of Angolan diplomacy, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, in the II Summit and Economic Forum Russia-Africa, in the city of Saint Petersburg.<\/p>\n

The II Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Summit and Forum took place from the 26th to the 29th, under the auspices of the Russian President, Vladmir Putin, and the President of the African Union and the Comoros Islands, Azali Assoumani.<\/p>\n
