Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, inaugurated, this Friday, the Dr. Vict\u00f3ria do Esp\u00edrito Santo Pediatric Hematological Institute, located between the Provincial Health Delegation of Luanda and the Emergency Bank of Josina Machel, in the country’s capital.<\/b><\/p>\n

The hospital is a seven-storey building built from scratch and has an operating room, intensive care unit, pre- and post-operative hospitalization, bone marrow treatment center, in collaboration with the Instituto de Luta Contra o Cancro and other units. of reference, and epidemiology, prevention, education and family support in collaboration with the National Directorate of Public Health.<\/p>\n

It also has intervention areas, a support center for children with sickle cell anemia, with a capacity to serve 60 percent in an emergency department and 40 in an outpatient clinic, a pediatric hemotherapy service, in connection with the National Blood Institute, a pharmacy , laundry, hospital waste deposit area, outpatient clinic, clinical analysis, imaging, administrative services and training.<\/p>\n

The Instituto Hematol\u00f3gico Pedi\u00e1trico Dra. Vict\u00f3ria do Esp\u00edrito Santo was designed to respond to diseases of hematological origin, such as sickle cell anemia, acute and chronic leukemias and lymphomas in pediatrics.<\/p>\n

It also has a pediatric hemotherapy component and a bone marrow transplant center.<\/p>\n
