Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Republics of Angola and the Arab Republic of Egypt have been working to revitalize parliamentary diplomacy, as well as the need to establish a bilateral friendship group.<\/b><\/p>\n

This fact was made public, this Monday, during a meeting held at the seat of the Egyptian Parliament, in which the Angolan ambassador to Egypt, Nelson Cosme, received information on the ongoing procedures of the Egyptian side for the implementation of the referred mechanism.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Manna, secretary-general of the Egyptian legislative body, informed the Angolan diplomat that the matter has already received due treatment in the present legislature, and that he will opportunely submit, through diplomatic channels, to the Angolan National Assembly the composition of the group created for greater interaction between the two parliaments.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he informed the availability of the Egyptian Parliament to participate in the 147th General Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union (UIP) and related meetings, taking place in Luanda, between the 23rd and 27th of October of the current year, for which the country has the necessary human, material and technical conditions.<\/p>\n

The IPU General Assemblies bring together hundreds of parliamentarians from all over the world to debate different urgent issues facing the world, as well as sharing experiences and knowledge for collective parliamentary actions.<\/p>\n

Angola intends, with the meeting in Luanda, to achieve the most useful results for the Member States of the IPU and their respective populations.<\/p>\n

The parliamentary meeting will be an opportunity for a better understanding of the new Angola, of parliamentary democracy, and of the progress that has been achieved by the country, in recent years, in the various domains of national life.<\/p>\n

Issues related to the Egyptian participation in the 147th General Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union are expressed in the invitation that the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, addressed to her counterpart in Egypt, Hanafy Ali Gebaly.<\/p>\n
