Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan capital will host, from the 7th to the 17th of this month, the 43rd Summit of SADC Heads of States and Governments, during which Angola will assume the rotating presidency of the organization.<\/b><\/p>\n

In anticipation of the 43rd SADC summit, Osvaldo Mboco considered it important for the country to also promote stability, peace in the region and the integration process, with a focus on the Free Trade Area.<\/p>\n

Osvaldo Mboco, however, understands that there are some challenges to the continuity of the work developed by the country in leading the Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL).<\/p>\n

Within the framework of SADC, the political analyst pointed to the pacification of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Mozambican region of Cabo Delgado.<\/p>\n

The also university professor considered it fundamental that the SADC Member States seek in the next two years ways and solutions to intensify the industrialization process and commercial exchanges within the community.<\/p>\n

The analyst defends the emergence of infrastructures that promote trade, as well as projects aimed at empowering women and young people.<\/p>\n

For him, Angola has increased responsibilities in the process of dynamizing the SADC dossiers, adding that this is an opportunity for the country to show, once again, its diplomatic capacity.<\/p>\n

Likewise, it will be the moment to influence other Member States to bet on the Lobito Corridor.<\/p>\n

The Lobito Railway Corridor extends, in Angola, for almost 1,300 kilometers through the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Bie\u0301 and Moxico, and then continues for 400 kilometers in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Kolwezi, the heart of the Copperbelt, in Zambia.<\/p>\n

With the Angolan presidency in SADC, continued the interlocutor, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o will have a platform for greater political concertation, including the Great Lakes Region, within the framework of pacification actions in Africa.<\/p>\n

According to the political analyst, the DRC, due to its geographic approximation and the sharing of a border of over 2,500 kilometres, is not just a zone of influence.<\/p>\n

It is \u201ca vital space for any change from the security, political and economic point of view, which is why it requires special attention from the SADC Member States\u201d, expressed the analyst.<\/p>\n

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is an inter-governmental organization created in 1992 and dedicated to socio-economic cooperation and integration, as well as cooperation in political and security matters.<\/p>\n

The organization includes Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

The organization has among its objectives the promotion of economic growth and development, the reduction of poverty, peace and security, sustainable development, the consolidation of cultural, historical and social affinities.<\/p>\n
