Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, analyzed Thursday, the country’s current economic and financial situation, with representatives of business associations that operate in various sectors for the development and diversification of the economy.<\/b><\/p>\n

The main focus of interaction between the Holder of Executive Power and representatives of the business class is the search for ideas and consensus to design actions aimed at mitigating the effects of the current financial and economic situation in the country.<\/p>\n

In this context, the Head of State received, on separate occasions, at the Presidential Palace, Rui Santos, from the National Association of Poultry Farmers (ANAVI), Manuel Pacavira, Association of Cement Industries of Angola (AICA), and Cle\u0301ber Correia, Association of Real Estate Professionals of Angola (APIMA).<\/p>\n

With the same purpose, Ramiro Barreira, Association of Hotels and Resorts of Angola (AHRA), Anto\u0301nio Pacavira, National Association of Private Education (ANEP), and Henriqueta Carvalho, Federation of Entrepreneurial Women of Angola (FEMEA) were received.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, representatives of socio-economic associations linked to the productive sector stated that they presented the concerns that affect them to the holder of the Executive Power.<\/p>\n

According to the president of ANAVI, Rui Santos, the increase in chicken production by its members depends on more and better investments in the sector and this was one of the subjects discussed with the Head of State.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo increase chicken production we need more corn and soybeans, food feed, which are highly consumed by birds\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

The leader of AICA, Manuel Pacavira, said that the issue of fuel supply, at the level of production units and the reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT), were, among others, concerns raised.<\/p>\n

He stated that, currently, Angola has a cement production capacity of around eight (8) million and 460 thousand tons per year, having considered the cement industry \u201cvery specific\u201d.<\/p>\n

Cle\u0301ber Correia, from APIMA, informed that he presented some financial mechanisms for the real estate sector to take firmer steps, with emphasis on the proposal of an alternative diploma to the mortgage (fiduciary alienation), in which the creditor manages to resolve a certain default without using from the court.<\/p>\n

“This makes it possible to establish direct relations between buyer and seller, making the private agent finance the property’s own comparator, a mechanism that does not necessarily involve a third party (financier)”, he maintained.<\/p>\n

With regard to the rise in real estate prices, Cle\u0301ber Correia said that it only happens when there is not an abundance of properties. \u201cBank credits must work, so that, from then on, price speculation can decrease\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

For his part, Ramiro Barreira, from the AHRA, considered the conversation on the situation of tourism in the country \u201cvery open and frank\u201d, and said that the Head of State proposed some initiatives to improve and leverage the sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have many challenges and the biggest one is that we are all united to make Angola a region with solid and strong tourism\u201d, he underlined.<\/p>\n

For his part, Anto\u0301nio Pacavira, president of ANEP, considered the initiative of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o very commendable, in the sense of participatory management, noting that the institution he directs sent the proposal regarding the industrial tax, so that it is reduced from the current 25 to 10 percent.<\/p>\n

He informed that they also requested the opening of a line of credit for the education sector, similarly to what already happens with the sectors of agriculture and industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to benefit from subsidized interest, because until then, we paid very high interest. Schools need to invest every year in computers and laboratories\u201d, noted Anto\u0301nio Pacavira, referring that, currently, to equip a laboratory costs are around 30 million kwanzas.<\/p>\n

Also speaking to journalists, Henriqueta Carvalho, from FEMEA, said that she proposed to the Executive Power holder the creation of a financial fund for women, as well as addressed the issue of more support for agriculture, training and training in agribusiness, industry and literacy.<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic also received, at different times, the president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Angola (AJEA), Alfredo Cumbi, the leader of the International Youth Forum with Embassies (FUE), Clinton Matias, and the representative of the League of Fishing Associations (LASPAS), Jorge Hila\u0301rio.<\/p>\n

The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano, and the President’s Secretary for the Productive Sector, Isaac dos Anjos, witnessed the hearings.<\/p>\n
