Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new project to expand the drinking water supply system in the city of Caa\u0301la, central Huambo province, was reassessed this Friday by technicians from the National Water Directorate (DNA).<\/b><\/p>\n

The reassessment consisted of verifying the points defined for the construction of a new intake, a Water Treatment Station (WTP) in the middle of the Konhon\u0303gama river and a reservoir in the vicinity of the Santuario de Nosso Senhora do Monte, with a capacity of over five thousand cubic meters.<\/p>\n

The project envisages the construction of a pipeline that could depart from the future ETA to the new water storage reservoir, projected along an approximate route of two kilometers.<\/p>\n

The current drinking water supply system is supported by a catchment built in the colonial period, two storage tanks of 520 cubic meters and two with 500 cubic meters, which assist close to two thousand and 40 customers.<\/p>\n

With the completion of the new drinking water supply system, it is expected to reach at least 20 thousand customers under acceptable conditions.<\/p>\n

The director of the water company in the municipality of Caa\u0301la, Pedro Jaime Dongala, said that with these new constructions it is intended to increase the supply capacity of drinking water, both in the city and on the outskirts.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the project could start at any time.<\/p>\n

Currently, the water supply in the city of Caa\u0301la and surroundings is marked by restrictions.<\/p>\n
