Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The senior men’s basketball team lost, this Friday, to a similar team from Mexico, by 76-78, in the opening round of the international tournament “Tac\u0327a do Rei XI”, which will run until the 7th in Jordan.<\/b><\/p>\n

The competition, involving four teams, precedes the participation of the African Champions in the World Cup, from August 25th to September 10th, in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.<\/p>\n

Angola trailed at half-time by one point (47-48), in a match played at the Prince Hamzi Hall sports complex, in the capital Amman (Jordan).<\/p>\n

The Angolan center Bruno Fernando was the best scorer in the match, with 17 points, followed by his compatriot, base Nilton Valente, with 12pts.<\/p>\n

As for the Mexicans, Orlando Mendez stood out, with 17 points, five more than his colleague, Johua Ibarra (12).<\/p>\n

Angola \u2013 Childo Dunda\u0303o (07 points), Gerson Domingos (09), Jose\u0301 Maconda (02), Eduardo Francisco (02), Gerson Lukeny (06), Silvio Sousa (02), Kevin Kokila (04), Jilkson Bango (09) , Antonio Monteiro (03), Nilton Valente (12), Aboubakar Gakou (03), Joa\u0303o Fernandes (00) and Bruno Fernando (17)<\/p>\n

Mexico \u2013 Gael Bonilla (06), Fabion Jaimes (09), Paul Stoll (09), Jorge Gutierrez (04), Moises Andriasi (00), Francisco Cruz (11), Gabriel Girou (05), Hector Hermandez (02), Orlando Mendez (17), Jorge Camacho (03), Ivan Montano (00), Israel Gutirrez (00) and Joshua Ibarra (12).<\/p>\n

On Saturday (the 5th), the Hendeca champions will play the hosts (Jordan) at 6 pm and on Monday (the 7th) they will face Portugal.<\/p>\n
