Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Two hundred and forty Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) cadets were promoted this Friday to the rank of sub-lieutenant, at the end of the sixth degree course in military sciences, at the Army Academy, in Lobito, Benguela province.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the end of the five-year course, divided into six thousand hours, 10 semesters and 13 specialties, the FAA Chief of Staff, Aviation General Altino dos Santos, stated that the commitment to rejuvenating the military personnel is to continue , despite the costs it entails.<\/p>\n

“It is worth noting that the older generation of cadres committed themselves to the conquest and preservation of independence, peace and national reconciliation, serving the homeland and the Armed Forces in an altruistic, excessive and heroic way, with the sacrifice of their own lives”, he said.<\/p>\n

He considered it essential that the new military cadres permanently improve their technical and professional knowledge, in order to preserve unity, cohesion and patriotism.<\/p>\n

“It is essential to always act in accordance with morals and ethics, respecting the laws, national symbols, institutions and authorities, with principles of good education”, stated the Chief of the General Staff.<\/p>\n

On his turn, the director of the Academy, Lieutenant General Jose\u0301 Alberto Veigas, said that the training action reached the previously established objectives, with a 75.23 percent pass rate.<\/p>\n

“For this challenge, we initially started with a number of 319 cadets enrolled, but for disciplinary and academic reasons, 79 did not finish their training”, he explained.<\/p>\n

He stated that superior academic-military training catapults cadets to a higher grade in the permanent staff of the Angolan Armed Forces, with whom the State must rely and trust.<\/p>\n

“It is a permanent response that the Army branch, through AMEx, has been giving in terms of modernization, professionalization and rejuvenation of the FAA”, he underlined.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Alberto Veigas also referred to the perspectives of the institution, favoring scientific research, as well as the military and pedagogical professionalization of students and military personnel.<\/p>\n

He also spoke of the implementation of training programs for the qualification and professional improvement of teachers, the holding of master’s and doctoral courses in pedagogical military sciences, among the priorities of the institution.<\/p>\n

In addition to patenting, the new officers of the Angolan Armed Forces received diplomas and swords as proof of graduation.<\/p>\n

Among them, the student Idale\u0301cio Anto\u0301nio, specializing in telecommunications, stood out in all disciplines, with 18 out of 20, who deserved the honor of being patented by the Chief of the General Staff of the FAa, Altino dos Santos.<\/p>\n

From the first to the sixth course, AMEx has already trained 946 officers in the specialties of infantry, tanks, land artillery, anti-aircraft defense, military engineering, telecommunications, chemistry, logistics and weapons, ammunition, intelligence, patriotic action, among others.<\/p>\n
