Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Estonian ambassador for African affairs, Daniel Schaer, praised in Luanda, the advantages of Angola’s presidency in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), classifying it as an excellent opportunity for the execution of the strategic plans of the your country to the African continent, in particular the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat, who leads an Estonian delegation on a mission in the country, made this reference in connection with the 43rd Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, which Luanda will host, from the 7th to the 17th of this month, in which the country will assume the leadership of the regional organization.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a meeting with the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes, he also expressed his country’s willingness to work with Angola for the development of the SADC region, which has presented projects aimed at Infrastructure Development. structures, Industrialization, Road, Airport, Livestock, Fishing and Energy sectors.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the diplomat highlighted the need for closer ties between the communities of the two States, in order to accelerate and facilitate the efficient implementation of bilateral cooperation plans.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, matters of interest for bilateral cooperation between the two States were also addressed, in particular the increase in support for the diversification of the economy and development of the digitization sector.<\/p>\n

Daniel Schaer considered that the opening of the Honorary Consulate in Angola will stimulate cooperation ties between the two countries, highlighting the Memorandum of Understanding on Digital Governance and Administrative Modernization, signed in April this year, in the city of Tallinn (Estonia), as a means of achieving the established objectives.<\/p>\n

Estonia has shown strong interest in cooperating with Angola in the area of \u200b\u200bimplementation of digital technology systems, as well as in matters of blue economy and green technology for the protection of the oceans.<\/p>\n
