Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the National Assembly approved the resolution for the ratification of the protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, on the rights of persons with disabilities in Africa, during the working session on Thursday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women, Faustina Alves, who presented the diploma to the deputies, said that among the objectives of the diploma stand out the promotion of all people with disabilities so that they can enjoy their rights and ensure dignity inherent to the human person.<\/p>\n

Accession to the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Africa, unanimously approved, allows the Angolan State to promote cooperation at international, continental, sub-regional and bilateral levels, with a view to strengthening the capacities of people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

According to the resolution, the agreement will be implemented through the exchange of survey results between African countries, considering technical, human and financial resources, as well as information and good practices.<\/p>\n

The deputies also approved the resolution for the ratification of the Cooperation Agreement between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the field of Security and Public Order, signed on 16 September 2020, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

In this way, cooperation relations between the two countries are established, allowing a joint approach to phenomena such as terrorism, illegal immigration, trafficking in human beings, kidnapping, money laundering, corruption and transnational organized crime.<\/p>\n

The diploma allows the two countries to cooperate in the areas of combating environmental crimes, illicit trafficking in minerals, forgery and illegal use of identity documents, theft, storage, use and trafficking of firearms, ammunition, explosives, toxic, biological substances , bacteriological, nuclear and radioactive material.<\/p>\n
