Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Gesta\u0303o de Activos took cases valued at 129 billion kwanzas to the Court, within the scope of the recovery of toxic assets acquired from Banco de Poupanc\u0327a de Cre\u0301dito (BPC).<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to the aforementioned amount, 23 billion kwanzas are for precautionary measures requested from the Court, according to the chairman of the institution’s Board of Directors, Valter Barros.<\/p>\n

Still at the level of the Court, the official says that, for two years, an insolvency process has been under way for a company, whose owner, considered “very famous” does not have the conditions to pay the amount of the debt.<\/p>\n

“After assessing the company’s assets, we found that it is unable to pay the debt amount referenced in the company’s insolvency”, said Valter Barros at the meeting that the Minister of Finance held with journalists.<\/p>\n

Thousands of Kz already recovered<\/p>\n

In 2022, Recredit had a bad debt recovery rate of around 25%, for a total of AOA 19.0 billion, below the AOA 26.3 billion forecast.<\/p>\n

If compared to the previous year, 2021, it is observed that there was a difference in the credit recovery process, in 2022, since the same period the value reached 21.9 billion kwanzas.<\/p>\n

From 2020 to 2022, Recredit has a credit recovery record of 46.5 billion kwanzas, of toxic assets acquired from BPC, within the framework of the restructuring and restructuring strategy of this public bank.<\/p>\n

Recredit-Gesta\u0303o de Activos has as its corporate object the acquisition and revitalization of assets, namely credit assets, that is, recovering granted credits and, ancillary, the management with a view to their sale, financial holdings and assets.<\/p>\n

Given the current level of development and exposure to systemic risk of the Banco de Poupanc\u0327a e Cre\u0301dito (BPC), RECREDIT appears as a measure to resolve bad debt, contributing to the achievement of several purposes, in the sense of strengthening the national financial sector.<\/p>\n
