{"id":41574,"date":"2023-08-08T17:29:52","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T17:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=41574"},"modified":"2023-08-08T16:21:16","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T16:21:16","slug":"adecos-trained-on-disease-prevention-in-golungo-alto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/adecos-trained-on-disease-prevention-in-golungo-alto","title":{"rendered":"ADECOS trained on disease prevention in Golungo Alto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>Twenty-six Community and Health Development Agents (ADECOS) completed, Monday, in the municipality of Golungo Alto, Cuanza Norte province, a training course on disease prevention.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Promoted by the Institute of Local Development (FAS), the seminar lasted 21 days and is part of the strategies for disease prevention and promotion of community development.<\/p>\n<p>It aimed to provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge about various tropical diseases such as malaria, diarrheal and respiratory diseases, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the closing ceremony, the municipal administrator of Golungo Alto, Maria Ina\u0301cio Jero\u0301nimo, highlighted the contribution of ADECOS in disease prevention and community organization, through population education.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that this contribution has helped the Government to better target medical and drug assistance policies to citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, the head of the Provincial Department of the Local Development Institute (FAS), Lourenc\u0327o Matias, also aims to expand the implementation of the National Policy of Community and Health Development Agents (PNADECOS), which constitutes the reaffirmation of the Angolan Executive&#8217;s commitment to maximization of social services in communities.<\/p>\n<p>The province of Cuanza Norte currently has 142 ADECOS distributed across the municipalities of Cazengo (seat of the province), Quiculungo and Ambaca, with 30 each, as well as Golungo Alto and Banga, with 26 each.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the ADECOS in the municipalities of Cazengo, Ambaca and Quiculungo have benefited from training.<\/p>\n<p>Matias Lourenc\u0327o underlined that ADECOS have been active agents in the development work of communities in Cuanza Norte, with emphasis on those covered by the Kwenda Social Monetary Transfer Programme.<\/p>\n<p>He informed that 17 thousand and 497 households in the municipalities of Ambaca, Quiculungo, Bolongongo, Golungo Alto and Banga benefited from the Kwenda program, with the help of ADECOS through registration, validation, assistance with payments and guidance of communities for the development of literacy financial.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
