Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Indian businessmen have intensified, over the last three years, their commitment to the Angolan market, with investments in different sectors, mainly in the provinces of Benguela, Lunda Sul and Namibe.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was confirmed, this Tuesday, in Luanda, by that country’s ambassador to Angola, Pratibha Parkar, at the end of an audience granted to her by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the diplomat added that Indian businessmen are showing interest in the areas of agriculture, food processing, health and mining.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can say that businessmen are aware of and very interested in the various existing business opportunities in Angola\u201d, expressed ambassador Pratibha Parkar.<\/p>\n

The Angolan market presents business opportunities in productive segments such as agriculture, fisheries, industry, tourism and services, in addition to the usual oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n

The diplomat said that the meeting with the Angolan President also served to address issues related to bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

As for the balance of payments between the two countries, he said it was favorable for Angola and underlined that bilateral trade had registered, in recent years, the figure of US$4 billion.<\/p>\n

The previous volume of business was around US$3 billion, with 10 percent of that figure resulting from the sale of oil from Angola to the Asian country.<\/p>\n

India established diplomatic relations with Angola in 1985 and, since then, has maintained an extremely cordial cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Asian country is Angola’s third largest trading partner.<\/p>\n
