Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Angola has seriously invested in revitalizing the national coffee sector, based on the promotion of production promotion programs aimed at the family sector, said the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry (Minagrif), Anto\u0301nio Francisco de Assis.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister made this statement while speaking at the working session of the Second Summit of the group of 25 African coffee producing countries (G25), which will take place from 7 to 10 August, in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n

According to a press release from the Embassy of Angola, in Nairobi, this Wednesday, at the end of the meeting, Anto\u0301nio Francisco de Assis met with the Ugandan Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Frank Tumwebaze , and with the secretary general of the Intra-African Coffee Organization, Solomon Rutega.<\/p>\n

The meeting was dominated, above all, by the issue of strengthening cooperation between states in the coffee sector.<\/p>\n

The coffee summit will take place under the motto \u201cTransforming the African Coffee Sector through Added Value\u201d, and the Angolan minister will participate on behalf of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

The forum is being discussed, among others, topics such as \u201cThe future of the African coffee industry based on the African Continental Free Trade Area\u201d, \u201cFinancial options for added value\u201d, \u201cProduction and productivity in the African Coffee Region, sharing experiences to create a coffee culture in Africa\u201d and \u201cAccess to new markets\u201d.<\/p>\n

The objective of the event is to create a platform for the governments of the 25 African coffee producing countries to work together in search of consensus in the construction of an integrated African coffee sector, with a view to consolidating the intention of turning Coffee into a commodity African Union strategic plan in line with its Agenda 2063.<\/p>\n

The delegation headed by the minister, Anto\u0301nio Francisco de Assis, the director general of the National Coffee Institute, Vasco Gonc\u0327alves Joaquim Anto\u0301nio, and senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry are part of the delegation.<\/p>\n
