Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Territorial Administration and State Reform, Dioni\u0301sio da Fonseca, considered Wednesday in Lubango that the Feira dos Munici\u0301pios e Cidade de Angola (FMCA) constitutes a progressive path towards training administrations municipalities to autonomously manage their constituencies in the autarkic transition.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dioni\u0301sio da Fonseca made this statement to the press, within the scope of the FMCA that starts this Thursday, in the Huila capital, stating that these initiatives are part of the “great challenge” of the municipalization of the State in assigning competences and financial capacities so that the administrations municipalities can respond to the main concerns of the population.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fair, in itself, does not reflect the operation of a local authority, but we are making a progressive path in the field of training municipal administrations so that when they move through the process of becoming autarchy by the State, they have the competences and autonomy to manage the districts territorial\u201d, he clarified.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the present edition is being celebrated within the framework of the commemorations of the African Day of Decentralization and Local Development, to be marked on the 10th of the current month and that for this year the motto is “Contribution of sub-national organizations, namely, governments provincial and municipal administrations in the implementation of the African continental free trade zone”.<\/p>\n

At the fair, he continued, the discussion will focus on a forum on \u201cThe role of municipalities in creating conditions for more and more investments to be made at local level and to contribute to an increase in the job offer, in terms of counties”.<\/p>\n

The fair, which has been held under the motto \u201cLife is made in municipalities\u201d, serves to share information about municipalities and cities, respective programs, projects and investment opportunities.<\/p>\n

The FMCA and the Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola were established in 2013 as a stage for exposing the economic and tourist potential of the most varied regions of the country, but also as an opportunity for interaction between the local government bodies of the State, namely , the 164 municipalities, and the 18 provinces of Angola.<\/p>\n

The event will bring together, in a gross space of five thousand square meters, at the Nossa Senhora do Monte stadium, exhibitions of the 164 municipal administrations, the 18 provincial governments, ministries, public institutes, public companies, regulatory entities, private companies, startups, representatives civil society organizations, among other entities.<\/p>\n

The last edition of the Municipalities and Cities Fair took place in November 2018 at the National Stadium in Ombaka, and brought together 250 companies from the country’s 164 municipalities and representatives of six ministerial departments.<\/p>\n
