Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The self-directed construction project, called \u201cImprovement of the villages\u201d, recently launched in Saurimo (Lunda Sul), includes 2,418 \u201cadobe\u201d houses, for residents of the district, with a view to organizing the villages and regedorias for the well-being of the population.<\/b><\/p>\n

The project launched in July of the current year is an initiative of the Government of Lunda Sul, in partnership with the Municipal Administration of Saurimo, where 20 villages were selected in a first phase.<\/p>\n

These are the villages of Pimbi, Txisongo Caita, Sambau, Cassemene, Muatchicucu, Saurimbo, Muacucu, Zorro, Pelengue, Sueja, Itengo, Samupafo, Tamba I and II, Mombo, Gambo, Camundanbala, Nanguanza, Txapoji, Saquembue and Muaquixi.<\/p>\n

The deputy administrator for Technical Services and Infrastructures, Yanva Txipoia, made it known that the project is progressing at a good pace, and that at the moment 65 houses have already been completed.<\/p>\n

He explained that for the success of the project, the Saurimo administration distributed zinc sheets, beams, nails, hammers, saws, forms for building adobes, shovels, hoes, among others.<\/p>\n

He underlined that the project is based on the program of improvement of social conditions in the villages and aims to improve the habitability of the populations, until the period of 2027, in order to make them more attractive.<\/p>\n

He made it known that the villages will have roads, water supply systems, electricity, schools and other services.<\/p>\n

Saurimo, with over 530,000 inhabitants, comprises the communes of Saurimo, Mona-Quimbundo and Sombo, 140 villages, 61 of which have already been unified, and 16 settlements.<\/p>\n
