Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>“Kota Bw\u00e9”, as Calabeto is known, is one of the headliners of the concert in celebration of Women’s Day, which takes place tomorrow, from 11:00 am, at the Kilamba Recreation and Cultural Center, in Luanda, and promises to perform hits such as \u201cKamba Dyami\u201d, \u201cSumba L\u00f3 Nguingue\u201d, \u201cTussocana Kiebi\u201d and \u201cNgolo Yami Jos\u00e9\u201d, which made him one of the most respected Angolan singers.<\/b><\/p>\n

With the instrumental support of Jovens do Prenda, in addition to Calabeto, musicians Dom Caetano and Augusto Chacaya will also perform tomorrow on the stage of Centro Recreativo e Cultural Kilamba.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow’s show marks the official start of the programming of this space for the promotion and dissemination of Angolan music.<\/p>\n

The person in charge of the space, Estev\u00e3o Costa, said that the event is intended to provide fans of Angolan music with a memorable journey to the best of national rhythms.<\/p>\n

Estev\u00e3o Costa stressed that the intention is to mark International Women’s Day in a special way, with one of the best groups in the Angolan music scene.<\/p>\n

For this edition, the special guest is the musician Calabeto, who, unlike Dom Caetano and Augusto Chacaya, was never connected to the Jovens do Prenda.<\/p>\n

Ant\u00f3nio Miguel Manuel Francisco “Calabeto” was born in the province of Luanda, on April 3, 1945. He began his activity in the Evangelical Mission, being part of the choir of that religious congregation.<\/p>\n

In 1958, he founded the Turma Rio de Janeiro. With a career that began in the 1950s, Calabeto has a repertoire in which several hit songs stand out, such as “Nzambi”, “Ngolo Yami”, “Avante o Poder Popular”, “Tussocana Kiebi”, “Comrade President”, ” Nguami Maka\u201d, \u201cVictory is Certain\u201d, \u201cNgui dia ngui nua\u201d and \u201cDivorce\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Young People<\/b><\/p>\n

The group Os Jovens do Prenda, created in 1968, will be able, after two postponements at the end of last year, as part of the celebrations of its 53 years, to put on the show, for which they prepared a repertoire with hits such as “Manh\u00e3 de Domingo \u201d, \u201cKandima\u201d, \u201cSamba Samba\u201d, \u201cNew Cooperation\u201d, \u201cMakam\u00e9\u201d, \u201cNgongo\u201d and \u201cIlha Virgem\u201d, some of them in the voices of Augusto Chacaya and Dom Caetano.<\/p>\n

Currently, Didi da M\u00e3e Preta, Augusto Chacaya and Ant\u00f3nio Imperial “Bai\u00e3o”, the “guardians” of the orchestra’s mystique, have passed their testimony on to Z\u00e9 Lu\u00eds (viola rhythm), Cl\u00e1udio Clic Clac (solo), Elvy (background) , Jo\u00e3o Daloba (drums), Esteves Bento (drums), Eurico Sandombe (keyboards), Eufraim La Trompa, Gabriel and Lukeny (winds) and the vocalists, Tony do Fumo Filho and Miau.<\/p>\n

The Jovitos are also considered one of the national reference schools for Angolan music performers, with names such as Kintino, Zecax, Mingo Canhoto, Twely Bamba, Rom\u00e3o Teixeira, Julinho Vicente, Joca and Dom Pirakanda, having passed through the group, which has on the market the albums “Mutidi”, “Samba-Samba”, “Kudicola Kwetu” and “Iweza”.<\/p>\n
