Demining.

On the occasion, he said, without highlighting the locations with greater danger to the safety of the population, that the challenge of freeing Angola from the problem of mines and other explosive devices is great, hence the need for the engagement of all those involved in the demining process.

According to the director general of ANAM, the Angolan authorities have committed themselves to the international community to clear all known mined areas under their jurisdiction, because, despite the numerous efforts made over the last 28 years, the population continues to be impacted by these explosive devices.

Leonardo Sapalo stressed that the country’s numerous challenges, in line with Agenda 2025, require the need to intensify and apply all available activities to define and remove any presence, suspicion and restrictions imposed by mine contamination.

Therefore, he recognized the efforts that the Angolan Government and partners have undertaken in the country’s mine clearance process, with encouraging results, despite the constraints, above all, of a financial nature.

When talking about the training process, he informed that the training of technicians aims to ensure greater dynamism and productivity in the missions carried out by ANAM throughout the national territory, as well as to provide participants with basic and fundamental knowledge for the best professional performance in actions against mines.

In turn, the vice-governor for technical services and infrastructure in Huambo province, Francisco Elmano, highlighted the demining process as one of the important factors for guaranteeing the tranquility, dignity and well-being of the population.

The person in charge called for greater commitment and dedication from the trainees, while the trainers expect the transmission of knowledge based on rigor, zeal and responsibility, so that the established objectives can be achieved.

For More News And Analysis About Angola Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Angola.
