Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>One thousand young people will be able to benefit from free training and consultancy focused on the field of insurance and pension funds, until the end of 2023, in Angola, with a view to training and strengthening insurance literacy in the country, in an initiative by the consultancy \u201cVisionarius \u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

Specifically, in the training sessions, trainees improve their knowledge and exchange experiences on the most diverse topics, such as “Risk management”, “Life lines”, “Non-life lines”, “Co-insurance and Reinsurance”, “Analysis and Portfolio Management\u201d and \u201cInsurance Accounting\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible for pedagogical matters at Visionarius, Anselmo Capac\u0327a, the training is given only on Sundays, from 2 pm to 5 pm, at the Mediateca \u201cZe\u0301 Du\u0301\u201d in Cazenga, in Luanda, divided into four Sundays for each module, the which corresponds to 12 hours.<\/p>\n

Under the motto \u201cMore literacy, more penetration of insurance\u201d, the training cycle covers all interested people and individuals working in the insurance sector, having secondary education as a mandatory minimum requirement.<\/p>\n

The source underlined that each module contemplates 70 trainees, on average, having referred that five sessions have already been held this year.<\/p>\n

He recalled that, since 2021 until now, more than 300 young people have been trained, including sector employees and individuals, who have applied the knowledge acquired in insurance companies.<\/p>\n

In addition, Anselmo Capac\u0327a stated that, as a result of the training, some insurers are available to receive Visionarius trainees, who have made contacts to fit more young people into the job market.<\/p>\n

For example, he advanced that the insurance company Giant Seguros has already requested some candidates who could benefit from training for a possible job opportunity.<\/p>\n

By 2021, the insurance penetration rate in Angola was estimated at 0.7%, a very low percentage of the 6% recorded in the economies of the Southern African Development Community (SADC, acronym in English), according to Angolan Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency (ARSEG).<\/p>\n

Little literacy retracts insurance market<\/p>\n

For the also specialist in evaluating and managing risks (actuary), the Angolan insurance market is still below the desired level, due to the fact that there is little literacy and articles or books on insurance in the country, in addition to the weak culture and interest of people in matters of this sector .<\/p>\n

He recognized that there are few institutions that teach matters related to the insurance sector in Angola, despite ARSEG creating strategies to improve the dynamism of the market.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is a little explored market, although there are many business opportunities that allow the generation of more jobs and encourage investment by entrepreneurs\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Faced with this scenario, the specialist points to the review of school teaching programmes, mainly financial courses, creation of television or radio programs at national level and cycles of continuous training as one of the solutions to boost the insurance market in Angola.<\/p>\n

Currently, the sector has ten insurance companies authorized by the ARSEG, namely Empresa Nacional de Seguros de Angola (ENSA), the pioneer, Nossa Seguros, Sanlam Angola, Mundial Seguros, Global Seguros, Fidelidade, Confianc\u0327a Seguros, Tranquilidade, Triunfal Seguros and Protect.<\/p>\n

As for the Pension Funds sector, which is also almost \u201casleep\u201d, Anselmo Capac\u0327a appeals to the need for companies and individuals to be increasingly interested in these services, as they stimulate productivity at work and have a great impact on people’s lives. companies and their employees.<\/p>\n

It defined the Pension Fund as a complement to the pensions that workers receive at retirement age, being able to guarantee the continuity of normal life after retirement.<\/p>\n
