Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Fifty-three billion kwanzas were made available by the Angolan government for the requalification and modernization of the border market in Luvo, municipality of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided to the press on Friday, in Luvo, by the provincial governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, on the sidelines of the visit that the coordinator of the North Judicial Region, Neto Joaquim Neto, made to the said border post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to reassure everyone that the Luvo border post already has a budget approved by the President of the Republic, for its requalification and modernization in the near future\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the governor, a ministerial delegation is expected to arrive in the province in the next few days to carry out this project.<\/p>\n

He added that the current conditions of the Luvo border market do not dignify the fairgrounds and other traders who climb that open-air space.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to the requalification, the Luvo market will also have equipment to control the exit and entry of goods\u201d, highlighted the governor.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the Luvo market (on the Angolan side) has been inoperative for over three years, due to Covid-19.<\/p>\n

The market was held alternately on Saturdays and moved considerable amounts of goods from other parts of the country and the African continent.<\/p>\n

The Luvo market was one of the busiest border crossings in the country and a source of revenue for the state coffers.<\/p>\n

The border commune of Luvo is 60 kilometers north of the city of Mbanza Kongo, capital of the province of Zaire.<\/p>\n
