Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Forty-one thousand needy families in the communes of Pambangala, Ato\u0301me and Dumbi, in the municipality of Cassongue (Cuanza Sul), will receive, in September this year, the first installment of the monetary values \u200b\u200bof the Kwenda programme, I learned this Tuesday- fair.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was advanced by the provincial director of the Local Development Institute (FAS), Carolina Sanito, adding that all the technical and logistical conditions have been created so that these vulnerable households can receive the benefits of the program, with a view to reducing the poverty index.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the official stressed that the municipality of Cassongue is the fourth to benefit from the program and more than 41,000 households will be covered.<\/p>\n

He recalled that Kwenda assigned a value of 25,500 kwanzas quarterly to each household, a value that was increased to Kz 33,000.<\/p>\n

In the province of Cuanza Sul, 117,402 households are registered in 12 communes and 955 neighborhoods and villages in the municipalities of Ebo, Seles, Quilenda and Cassongue.<\/p>\n

Of these, 65,564 families already benefit from the programme, in an investment of over six billion kwanzas.<\/p>\n

Created in 2020, Kwenda is an Angolan Executive program, which aims to create policies to support the most vulnerable families.<\/p>\n

Operationalized by the Social Support Fund, the project lasts for three years and covers four components, namely Social Monetary Transfers, Productive Inclusion, Municipalization of Social Action and Reinforcement of the Single Social Register.<\/p>\n

It is valued at USD 420 million and is funded by the World Bank with USD 320 million. The other 100 million come from the National Treasury.<\/p>\n
