Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The seven-day-old newborn, who was found in a rubbish bin, in the Zorro\u0301 neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Luena (Moxico), was handed over to a foster family Wednesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The baby was delivered, on a provisional basis, to Carla Mutemeka Tito (fictitious name), who was pleased to win the case, which involved five families from this province.<\/p>\n

In the act of delivery, the provincial director of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, in Moxico, Ester Vumbi, explained that the provisional custody will comprise a period of 90 working days, waiting for the revocation of the parent family who, possibly, abandoned it.<\/p>\n

During this phase, the intervening institutions will start to carry out regular and peaceful monitoring of the process, in order to later give definitive custody of the minor.<\/p>\n

Ester Vumbi characterized the measure adopted to guarantee the protection, stability and healthy growth of the child as “appropriate”.<\/p>\n

The newborn, weighing 3.5 kilograms at birth, was found in the rubbish bin by the population, in the Zorro\u0301 neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Luena, who alerted the fire department, which sent it to the Provincial Maternity of Moxico, where it remained until the time of delivery to the new family.<\/p>\n
