Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The ministers responsible for Human Rights in Angola, Marcy Lopes, and Brazil, Si\u0301lvio Almeida, reaffirmed this Thursday, in Luanda, their interest in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the protection of people’s rights.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press after a closed-door meeting, the Angolan Minister of Justice and Human Rights said that he intends to extend cooperation in the areas of science, culture and education with Angolan universities.<\/p>\n

Marcy Lopes referred that the spirit is to create a policy of greater dissemination of human rights and citizenship, as well as the interaction of the curricula of Angolan and Brazilian universities.<\/p>\n

The member of the Angolan Executive informed that the two countries have had an agreement on extradition since 2005, and that they are in the process of signing international judicial cooperation agreements on matters of public security.<\/p>\n

Minister Marcy Lopes believes that President Lula da Silva’s visit to Angola could give greater impetus to the two processes, to be concluded, in the shortest possible time.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian Head of State is scheduled to arrive in Angola this Thursday.<\/p>\n

Marcy Lopes added that Angolan prisoners in Brazil have deserved the attention of the Brazilian authorities and the monitoring of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Relations, via diplomatic missions and consultants.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship of Brazil, Si\u0301lvio Almeida, said that it was an initial conversation to pave the way for a broader and more natural relationship between the two States, within the framework of Human Rights.<\/p>\n

Si\u0301lvio Almeida considered it essential to establish partnerships for the protection of people with disabilities and the street.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship of Brazil is in Luanda to join the delegation of President Luiz Ina\u0301cio Lula da Silva.<\/p>\n
